Coming from Chora, on the left of Christos Livadia, there is a street leading to the beautiful pine-covered area of Saint George at Resta. Athanasios Parios lived here as a monk. |

He lived in the island at the 18th century and he was the founder of the Great School of Chios. Also with his efforts the library of Chios become richer, so the island formed a great cultural center. He has been buried in a place where there is the monument of Nikiphoros the Chian. Here you can also see the grave of the historian George Zolotas. |
