So, the 3rd of November 1941 was the
foundation day of the branch of the Secondary School in the area of Vrontados. Principal of this school was assigned the dear departed professor
Dimitrios Skoufalos.
Of course residents of Vrontados accepted with great relief the news of Secondary School establishment in this area, especially the parents of little students, who studied, until then, in the Secondary Schools in the town of Chios.
Because nobody can forget the trouble these children had to walk there every day, a distance of about 8 kilometers.
The Secondary School (Andreadio) of Vrontados was built as his creator,
George C" Fragoulis Andreadis, wised: "close the church of Panagia Moutsaina, because exactly there is the center of Vrontados and, because near there is the sea, so the children could be trained there".
In 1964 within the bounds of educational reform, the sixth classed Gymnasium was divided in two parts, three years time each,
Gymnasium and Lyceum, of Classical and Nautical course.
Of course there had been the modification of Gymnasium into one of
Nautical course, in which since 1962 worked classes of Classical course too.
But during the military dictatorship the cluster of Gymnasium Lyceum was merged into
a sixth classed Gymnasium, where in the last three classes was operated the
Nautical section at the same time with the Classical section.
During the political changeover
there was a new division into Gymnasium and Lyceum, both of Nautical and
Classical course from 1976, while after 1983 was also established the Economy and Management section at the
Technical and Vocational Lyceum, which was established in 1980 and embodied the already existing three classed Nautical course.
So, until 1999 in Vrontado was operated a compulsory
three classed Secondary School and three classed Lyceum of General Education
and another three classed Lyceum of Technical and Vocational course: with a Nautical section and another section of Economy and Management.
