| Returning to the seaside road of Vrontados, there is the beautiful beach of
Daskalopetra, which is also called "Pasha's spring".
This area has the place-name of "Pasha's spring " because of the fountain which was built there and is still running clean, drinkable water.
This spring belonged to one pasha of the island.
Here, according to the tradition, sailors left the blind Homer, when they removed him from the opposite seaside of
Erithraia. |

| Daskalopetra or "School of Teacher's Stone" is a big rock, which has been sculptured on his upper surface, so to become plane.
It has signs of seats in the periphery and in the middle there is a sculptured elevation, with lion's feet.
In this place, according to the tradition, Homer taught his immortal poems to his students. |

|
In the north-west side of "Homer's Stone" there is a cubic altar of one meter from the same rock, where there are worn-out bas-reliefs.
It is said that this is an outdoor temple, from the archaic age, of Goddess
Cybele, who was adored, opposite, in Phrygia.
This temple was sacred for her worship and adoration, an offering of State or of any rich man to the Goddess.
